The CEWS has been extended to November 21 with a possible extension till December 31. In addition, there are changes in the program to further broaden their reach:

  • Businesses who have seen a decline in revenue of less than 30% would be able to qualify for the subsidy.

  • There is an introduction of a top-up subsidy for employers who have seen a 50%+ decline in their revenues for the three months for up to an additional 25%.

  • The maximum subsidy available for business with higher revenue declines has increased from $847 to $960. However, the maximum base subsidy will gradually decrease from 60% to 20% September.

These changes result in any employer who has a decline in their revenue regardless of it percentage, will be eligible for the CEWS.

The changes have been implemented as of July 27 .
